About Delhi

A little goes a long way when it comes to exploring Delhi and one thing that’s for sure is that you won’t have to travel too far to explore its absolute best. The narrow lanes of Old Delhi overflooded with people tantalise you with the most palatable street food, whereas the quiet streets of Central & Southern Delhi house monuments that speak of the royal Mughal dynasty galore. With a kickass nightlife, impressive food scene, and an arena of places to explore, shop, and live in, Delhi is exemplary of big-city life with its pleasures and luxuries alike.

Why we love Delhi

KHAN MARKET

The Khan Market is a shopping street popular with elite Indians and expats in Central Delhi. It is the 21st most expensive retail high street in the whole world and India’s most expensive market. Displaying an array of chic eat-outs (such as Civil House and Town Hall) and luxury indie brands for shopping (such as Anokhi and Amrapali) this cobblestoned market looks a lot like an Indian style European market.

DELHI HAAT

Dilli Haat is located in central Delhi and makes sure that you have a full desi experience and go home with innumerable shopping bags. One notable feature about this open-air market is that it has eating joints numbered according to the authentic food it serves from different states of India, that’s right, from Bengali to Gujarati every cuisine is covered by these food shacks!

LODHI GARDEN

Lodhi garden is a public park created to preserve the archaeological works by the Lodhi Dynasty in the 15th century. The beautiful fountains, vast green fields, ponds, and ancient ruins with detailed architecture are some of the sights these gardens have to offer.

INTERNATIONAL DOLLS MUSEUM

Housing a collection of 6500 dolls set up by political cartoonist K. Shankar Pillai, the Doll Museum in ITO is an exhibition of dolls and figures gifted to him by various ambassadors and dignitaries from over 85 countries! More interestingly, the dolls are organized according to the countries they come from and give you a peek into their culture by the attire and activities they’re performing.

CONNAUGHT PLACE

The commerce and finance hub of Delhi doubles as a social place blossoming with bars, cafes, and restaurants. And as you can imagine, this place never falls short of bustle and footprints, which furtively makes up for most of its charm. A white, circular plaza following Georgian Architecture and built almost 9 decades ago, Connaught Place is at the heart of Delhi, both geographically and culturally. Home to the famous Janpath and Palika Bazars, vintage theatres, and hotshot shopping brands of the world, CP is deeply ingrained in the lives of Delhiites.

CHANDNI CHOWK

Chandni Chowk, which literally translates to the moonlit square, is one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi. The sheer pace of life here is an experience in itself. The narrow lanes of this bazaar house some of the most delicious non-vegetarian food that Delhi has to offer, along with legacy showrooms to shop from.

Fun Facts

Hauz Khas Village, Connaught Place, Khan Market, SDA Market, and Champa gully are some of the finest hotspots for food and drinks in Delhi. They also make for a great hang out place, with shops, bakeries, and more!

Janpath, Sarojini Nagar, Dilli Haat, Lajpat Nagar, and Palika Bazar are the finest places to shop in Delhi. From clothes to handicrafts and books to house-decor, there's a terrific scope of shopping on the streets of Delhi!

Old Delhi is a treasure trove of experiences. The gullies of Chandni Chowk, Paharganj, Sadar Bazar all introduce you to the crazy, rowdy side of the city, which is just as likeable as its tranquil 8-metre streets. Enjoy the food, culture, and monuments of the city, as you take in its vast potential bit by bit.
