• Norbulingka Monastery and Institute- Explore the Tibetan architecture, history, and culture at the Norbulingka monastery, just a 7-10 min drive from Rakkar village centre. Meanwhile, visitors can experience the art of traditional Tibetan art, including painting, carving, and weaving, at the Norbulingka Institute. 
• Saloti Mata Temple- The Saloti Mata Temple is situated just a 12-min drive from the centre of Rakkar. It is the perfect site to spot an exquisite view of the valley over a warm cup of tea. 
• Rakkar Helipad View Point- The Rakkar helipad viewpoint, about a 15-20 min drive from central Rakkar, offers a larger-than-life vista of the entire landscape. 
• Gyuto Monastery- A surreal experience marked by clanging bells and chants, the Gyuto monastery invites visitors to witness the immemorial traditions and culture of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery sits just a 10 min drive from the centre of Rakkar village. 
• Naam Art Gallery- 7 min drive from Rakkar, Naam Art Gallery houses paintings and artworks by European artists, namely Elsbeth Buschman and Alfred W. Hallett. Visitors can also buy some art prints here during their visit.

• Trekking- Visitors can take the Rising Star Hilltop trek, which starts from the Chhatair village, just a 7 min drive from Rakkar. It is a 1N/2D trek with a total distance of 8 km. Additionally, visitors can also try the popular beginner-friendly Triund trek, which is a 2-day trek starting from Mcleodganj.
