Things to do:

Kathlekad Viewpoint (5 km): Take the scenic route through gullies laced with traditional petite houses and lush green trees to the viewpoint, which offers a soothing view of the hills, settlements, and meadows of Kodagu.

Madikeri (9 km): Explore the main attraction of Coorg district, the town of Madikeri. A bustling village still entirely stuck in time, Madikeri is a delight of traditional houses perched on hilly areas, lovely viewpoints, and lip-smacking dishes from the Kodagu cuisine. Visit Raja’s Seat (9 km), Madikeri Fort (8 km), and the magnificent Abbey Falls (14 km). Also, make a stop at the famous eateries in town to taste bamboo shoot & rice delicacies. One such place to eat in Madikeri is Coorg Cuisine.

Golden Temple (Tibetan Monastery, 35 km): The Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery is the largest teaching centre of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. Take a walk through its serene campus and delve into your tryst with a new culture.

Dubare Elephant Park (23 km): Enjoy boat rides, camp activities, and a meet with the famous elephants of the region on this outing. Located on the banks of the Cauvery river, the camp provides an idyllic experience, where you’re surrounded by nature throughout.

Chiklihole Reservoir (24 km): While Coorg is a land known for its serenity, Chiklihole just adds to it. An expanse of lush green meadows and a reservoir built over one of the tributaries of river Cauvery await you here. Visit during the sunset or come early in the morning if you’re planning a picnic.

Mandalpatti Trek (28-30 km): Walk through vibrant meadows and patches of tangled plantations to reach atop a hill, which offers stunning views of the valley. The timings for this trek are 6 AM to 6 PM and the trek begins on the scenic road that leads to Abbey Falls.

Nisargadhama (Bamboo Park, 35 km): A tiny island located on river Kaveri, Nisargadhama is a nature-driven place known for its innovative bamboo park and wilderness. Here, you can walk on rope bridges, take a dip in the river, go boating, and spot wild animals.

Harangi Dam & Backwaters (35 km): Built over a tributary of the river Kaveri, this dam poses with serene milieus and an unfiltered meet with nature.

Talacauvery (50 km): Perched upon the Brahmagiri Hills, Tala Kaveri is a sight of religious importance. It is said to be where the river originated and sits at an elevation of 1276 m.
