The journey continues after a filling breakfast at around 8 in the morning. Today’s work is a bit demanding due to the steep stone staircase on the way to Ulleri, which will take up the first 1.5 hrs of today’s trek. Stop for a lunch break at Banthanti. Beyond here, the trail goes through magnificent rhododendron and oak forests. It is a 6-7 hrs walk in total to get to the gorgeous village of Ghorepani. Stay overnight at a lodge.
Indulge in an early-morning hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) for a brilliant sunrise along with the panoramic view of the high Himalayas. It takes about 45 minutes and you rise to the altitude of an additional 400 meters as you walk up to the viewpoint. Reach back to the village for a warm breakfast, post which, we begin the trek to Tadapani (2540m). Stay overnight at a lodge in Tadapani.
Beyond Tadapani, the trail descends through a forest, so you’ll enjoy the breezes rustling through the trees and the chirping of the birds. After stooping downward for about 45 minutes, the trail gets steeper further below. Hereon, you’ll walk through the terraced field to Kimrung Khola, then cross the suspension bridge and walk to Gurjung. The trail ascends after Gurjung village, so it’s a 45-min uphill trek to Chhmrung at the elevation of 2170m. In total, it takes 4-5 hours to reach from Tadapani to Chhumrung. After all the hard work, take a good night’s rest at the lodge.

Further up from Deurali, the valley widens and becomes less steep. You’ll pass an avalanche-warning zone on this trail. As you walk further, you’ll get a better view of the gorgeous white mountains. The trail turns to the left in the valley after the Machhapuchhre Base Camp and it is a pleasant walk up the ABC, even though the air is thinner now. Now, your body will start feeling the high altitude, so it is recommended to not rush and walk gently. As you reach up, you’ll see one of the world’s best 360-degree mountain view from the Base Camp. Rejoice, as you’ll be gazing at the giant Annapurna I at 8091m, Annapurna South at 7219m, and the Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail) at 6997m amongst other wonderful peaks. After this breathtaking experience, come back and stay overnight at the lodge.
